In a true spirit of inculcating a spirit of volunteerism in their staff, StandChart is sending for the second time a team of empoyees to help in cleaning up Kota Damansara Community Forest Park.

Over 20 staff members arrived as early as 8am at the KDCFP. Led by Steven (Head of SKOP) the enthusiatic staff braced themselves with a hearty breakfast before taking on KDCFP. (Seen here - Steven talking with Prentice Crawford-MNS, while Dr.Kalithasan, Peter, Gary and Jeffrey looks on. Dr.Kalithasan surveyed the lake and recommended that we clear the connecting waterway between the two water bodies to improve the flow.

The staff members were divided into three groups and stationed at the start, mid-point and end of the connecting waterway. Armed with rakes & changkuls, they clear the area of natural obstacles like dead leaves and branches.

Over at the forest exit bridge a team was clearing up natural debris and removing from the stream, rubbish like fan covers, wooden crates and styrofoam lunch boxes. Obvious acts of irresponsible visitors.

Another team went into the forest and pick up paper and other rubbish left by trekkers. Here they are at the stream which feeds the lake. The water here is crystal clear.

The volunteers worked hard and have effectively removed about 7 bags of rubbish from the forest and connecting water way.
